The Transition Observatory of the Pedagogical Institute was initially developed in 1994 with the initiative of Dr. Stamatis Paleocrassas (Councilor and Vice President of P.I.), who remained on the research staff of the Observatory until his retirement in 2004. Ever since, Dr. Paleocrassas, retains an unofficial advisory role (Emeritus) as an expert for the research activities of the Observatory.
